Happy Armistice Day

The kids have the day off from school. Sally made a flag cake by herself this morning. Isn't it darling? Henry is home too and we're going over to Olan Mills to have our Christmas picture taken. Our appointment is for 11 AM, which is a bad time because I didn't realize the date when I made the appointment. The session will start late because the town siren rings at 11 and everyone has to stop what they're doing and turn east, towards Europe, for a moment of silence. I'm especially missing Daddy today.

planning a little get together

I'm having a few friends over on Saturday. The kids will be out of the house with Don. Want to beat winter doldrums and catch up on neighborhood gossip? RSVP here.

new book of the month

I enjoy reading. What housewife doesn't like curling up on the sofa (or fainting couch) with a good book? My book of the month club keeps me up on all the new fiction. I just finished Rosemary's Baby, have you read it? If not, I recommend not being alone in the house when you do. The mailman just brought the next book and here it is, fresh out of its brown paper wrapping. It looks to be a futuristic story about my ex-husband's business. (Which was my business too. Did you know I did modeling?) I'll let you know if it's any good. Or you could order it from Book of the Month and see for yourself.
